Thordben is an old hunter who is without the motivation to live but must face a snowstorm. The screams of a woman from the depths of the forest are the only thing that makes him react and move on.

About the film

Ellri is a 7-minute animated drama and adventure short that follows Thordben, an aging hunter who has lost his motivation to continue living. Alone in a harsh winter landscape, he must face a powerful snowstorm with little desire to fight against it. But when the screams of a woman emerge from deep within the forest, something awakens in him, giving him a reason to react and move forward.

Directed by Laura Quintanilla, Ellri explores themes of isolation, despair, survival, and the rediscovery of purpose. Against an unforgiving natural environment, the film turns a physical journey through the storm into an emotional struggle, suggesting that the possibility of helping another person can restore meaning when hope seems lost. Produced between Mexico and Norway, Ellri is a student project from the Universidad de Artes Digitales.
