About the creators
Daniela Scalia is an Italian journalist, television presenter, producer, director, writer, and actress best known as the creator, producer, director, and lead actress of the international drama series Sport Crime.
Born in Verona, Italy, Scalia built a distinguished career in sports broadcasting, becoming one of the first female anchors on Italian national sports television. Over the years, she worked with major broadcasters including Sportitalia and Eurosport, hosting and producing programs dedicated to rugby, football, ice hockey, and other international sports. She has reported from major sporting events and developed original television formats that combine journalism, storytelling, and sport.
Beyond television, Scalia is a multi-sport athlete who has represented Italy in disciplines including Australian Rules Football, Gaelic Football, and Cricket. Her passion for sport and firsthand athletic experience have become defining elements of her creative work, inspiring stories that explore the human, cultural, and social dimensions of competition.
In 2022, she launched Sport Crime, an original Italian-Swiss television series blending crime investigation, drama, and sports. As creator, writer, producer, director, and lead performer, she helped establish a unique format in which each episode explores a different sport while addressing broader themes of justice, ethics, and human resilience. The series has been distributed internationally and screened on major streaming platforms.
Fluent in Italian, English, and French, Daniela Scalia continues to develop television, film, and sports-related projects that bridge entertainment, journalism, and social awareness. Her work is driven by a commitment to authentic storytelling and a lifelong passion for sport, culture, and communication.
Luca Tramontin is an Italian journalist, television presenter, sports commentator, actor, and former international athlete whose career spans broadcasting, professional sports, and entertainment.
Born in Belluno, Italy, Tramontin developed a lifelong passion for rugby, hockey, rock music, and animal welfare. He graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature as well as Classical Philology, combining academic achievement with an extensive career in media and sports.
He began his television career as a writer in 1996 before becoming one of Italy’s most recognizable sports commentators and presenters. Over the years, he has worked with major broadcasters including Eurosport, Sportitalia, SBS Australia, RSI Switzerland, Mediaset, Sky, and Tele+, covering rugby, ice hockey, cricket, Australian football, Gaelic sports, and numerous international competitions.
As an athlete, Tramontin enjoyed a remarkable sporting journey. After playing rugby at the highest domestic level in Italy, he represented the Hungarian National Rugby Team in 2007, becoming one of the oldest international debutants in rugby history. Born with a congenital deformity of his right hand caused by Thalidomide exposure, he became one of the very few athletes with such a disability to compete at international level. His debut attracted significant media attention across Europe.
Following his rugby career, he successfully transitioned into ice hockey and Australian Rules Football, earning national team appearances and further demonstrating his versatility as an athlete.
Together with Daniela Scalia, Tramontin became widely known for creating and hosting sports television programs that combine journalism, culture, humor, and social awareness. The duo also co-developed innovative projects promoting inclusion in sports, including “Orules Rugby,” a full-contact rugby format designed for athletes with severe disabilities.
In addition to his broadcasting work, Tramontin stars as Luka “Dabs” Kriv in the television series Sport Crime, bringing his extensive sporting experience and media background to the role. His work continues to reflect his passions for sport, storytelling, rock music, animal welfare, and advocacy for people with disabilities.
