Marcos and Antonio live trapped in a room where days seem to repeat endlessly. Through a window, Marcos sees a mysterious man who sparks an obsession to uncover the truth. While Antonio resigns himself to the routine, Marcos fights to break the cycle and understand the meaning behind the man’s appearance.

About the film

The film explores repetition, confinement, identity, and the human experience of feeling trapped within patterns that seem impossible to escape. Through a contemplative approach, it invites the audience to look inward and question the world around them, creating a cinematic space that feels suspended in time. Rather than offering simple answers, the film uses silence, observation, and emotion to encourage personal reflection.

Built around a minimalist visual and narrative language, the film gives particular importance to sound and music as essential elements of storytelling. Sound is not used merely as accompaniment, but as another narrative layer—intensifying silence, shaping emotion, and drawing attention to details that might otherwise go unnoticed. The result is an intimate cinematic experience that seeks to bring a sense of order to chaos while revealing meaning in the overlooked.

About the Director

Carlos Méndez (Guatemala, 2004) is a filmmaker and a fourth-year student at the School of Film and Visual Arts at Universidad Francisco Marroquín. With a multidisciplinary background, he has developed a holistic approach to cinema, gaining experience in directing, cinematography, editing, sound design, and music composition.

As a director, he has created the short films Una hora de silencio (2023), Blanco (2024), and Musique (2024), in which he explores themes such as confinement, repetition, and loss of identity through a minimalist and contemplative aesthetic. His narrative style is marked by the use of silence, slow pacing, and visually symbolic language.

In addition to directing, he also composes the original scores for his films, aiming to build a distinct sonic identity that enhances the emotional and narrative depth of each piece. His musical work, both in cinema and independent projects, allows him to seamlessly blend sound and storytelling with a personal sensibility.
