A teenager in transition and her mother’s fears. Ballroom culture becomes a source of political and emotional support for the trans community.

About the film

Directed by Lucrecia Mastrangelo, the film follows Aurora, a teenager navigating her gender transition while gradually building her identity and imagining her future. Alongside her personal hopes, uncertainties, and fears, her relationship with her mother occupies a central place in the story, revealing the emotional complexities that accompany change, understanding, and acceptance within a family.

The film also enters the world of the Ballroom Movement, which becomes an important space of belonging, affection, and political support for Aurora and the trans community. Within this environment, she finds connection and a community where diverse identities can be expressed and affirmed. Through Aurora’s intimate journey, the documentary explores identity, family relationships, community, diversity, and the importance of spaces where trans people can find support and recognition.
