Quito International Film Festival (FICQ) – Quito, Ecuador

The journey continues in Ireland, where Home will screen at the 17th edition of OFFline Film Festival, a five-day celebration of cinema in the heritage town of Birr, Co. Offaly. Home will be shown on Saturday, October 11, as part of the festival’s International Shorts selection.

A Story That Demands to Be Told
Home is based on a shocking true story — a tragic murder in Iran that still haunts those who knew the victim. The film is dedicated to the memory of Babak, a friend of the director, who was murdered by his parents in a chilling act of so-called “honor” killing. The same couple had previously confessed to the murder of their daughter and son-in-law under similar justifications, rooted in extremist moral beliefs. While most of Babak’s remains were found, his head was never recovered — a brutal reminder of the inhumanity that can hide behind closed doors.
